About Miss Shalamar (Front Desk & Penguin Teacher)
Miss Shalamar loves teaching preschool at discovery kids preschool. I have been teaching at discovery kids for going on four years! I have worked in several areas of education and with all different ages, but preschool aged kids are my favorite! I love the sweet and funny things they say, and I so enjoy seeing them get excited about learning new things.
I have been married to my husband and best friend for 21 years. We have a daughter, Annabelle, who is 19 and attending college, and another daughter, Izzabelle, who is 16 and in High School, (FYI teenagers are almost as fabulous as preschoolers)! We have two labradors, Boog and Barr whom I love to pieces. When we aren’t doing work and school we enjoy traveling, going to concerts, seeing plays, hunting, fishing, restoring whatever old vehicle my husband has hauled home, and just spending time with family and friends.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Hello Preschool Families,
At Discovery Kids Preschool our first goal as preschool teachers is to make each day exciting! We want the children to love learning and to love coming to preschool. This is their first experience in a classroom setting and we want them to enjoy it, to feel comfortable, and to feel confident.
Our second goal is for each preschooler to succeed academically. We want them to stretch themselves, to realize their own learning potential and to seek out information by asking questions and applying new concepts.
Our last goal is for our students to be confident in a classroom setting by knowing when to share ideas and when to listen. I want my preschoolers to make new friends and strengthen those relationships using life skills and good communication.
Sincerely,
Discovery Kids Preschool Staff
